Here are the athletes that make our gym shine! These are gymnasts who received a sports scholarship to those who took their life lessons from the sport to continue with a college degree and onto a career. See where this sport has taken them.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Phillipians 4:13
Cierra signed with the University of Minnesota and has always strived for her best. It is this determination which earned her the Mariam Award from her Golden Gopher Team in 2013. She has always helped her team reach record highs each season, and was a NCAA qualifier in 2013.
Brittany signed with Temple University. Brittany competed in all events for the Temple Owls in 2010. She was a four-time Regional Qualifier, a level 10 National team alternate and qualified for Nationals her freshman and junior year.
Ashanee signed with the University of Florida. Ashanee exemplifies what hard work and dedication can do in gymnastics. She helped her Gator Gymnastics Team become National Champions 2013. As a post grad she continues to help her Gator Team prepare for competitions, and is now a coach at GU!
Heather signed with Penn State University. Heather competed for Penn State Gymnastics her freshman and sophomore year. Her favorite quote is, “Some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and ending. Life is about not knowing, having to change, and taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next.”
Carlie completed her training at GU and went on with her academics at Auburn. Her life with gymnastics has certainly stayed with her as she is a trainer in crossfit and coaches at our gym whenever she’s in town. Though we are not sure we will have her much these days as she’s accepted a permanent position with ESPN! We are so proud of her and all she’s accomplished!
This is one amazing girl. She’s worth mentioning more than once on our page. She’s more than a coach, she’s an inspirational leader! Sarah occasionally leads worship services in the Young Adult Ministry at Celebration Church’s Sub30 program. She has also lead some of our Bible Study services we offer during the summer. Sarah doesn’t stop there. She has taken her ministry abroad by going on missions trips Ireland every spring.
